He was about 10 —-  this puts us around 1952. 

Mick (Pick) Maher had the cure. He was of no relation, despite the shared last name.

They said if the rash met it would kill him, but, t thankfully it did not meet.

He drew blood from himself and drew x’s  like 3 inches a part around his trunk

Then he scratch’s his forearm with a pin and laid the bloodied arm across the rash. 

It worked.

Another woman had a cure for ringworm. She would take off her wedding ring and put it around where the ring worm rash was.
